ICAEW Lancashire and South Lakeland welcome new leader

Hamish Hamilton has been appointed president of ICAEW Lancashire and South Lakeland. He takes the reins from past president Gillian Bardin, who led during 2017-2018. He will be supported in this role by Deputy President Neil McMillan.

Hamish will support Lancashire and South Lakeland’s 1,780 members across the area, which forms part of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW).

His primary role will be to represent, promote and support chartered accountants in the region. He will also oversee the delivery of a range of services for members including a series of professional development courses, and a variety of technical and networking events including the annual dinner.

Hamish Hamilton, President of ICAEW Lancashire and South Lakeland, said: “It is an honour to able to represent chartered accountants in Lancashire and South Lakeland. As President I aim to encourage local members, in both practice and business, to engage with us so that we can provide effective support and ensure that the views of chartered accountants are promoted both locally and nationally”. The President and committee invited local members to join them at the Annual General Meeting at the Marriott Hotel, Preston which was followed by a networking BBQ, kindly supported Rowan Finance Ltd. Guests were entertained by close-up magician Jason Rea.
