One Little Bird celebrates five years in business

Nici Hewitson

Cockermouth-based PR and digital marketing agency One Little Bird is celebrating five years in business.

Originally a one-woman operation launched by Cumbrian PR consultant Nici Hewitson in October 2013, the agency has steadily grown in response to its clients’ evolving needs and now employs seven staff, offering digital marketing and website development expertise alongside traditional PR and marketing.

Nici Hewitson said: “I didn’t launch the business with grand plans in mind, I just wanted to make a living and find a good work-life balance as my son was one at the time. I’m proud of the way we have grown – it’s always been important to me to work with clients who are brilliant at what they do and I’m very pleased to represent such a range of incredible businesses today.”

One Little Bird represents clients including the Langdale Estate, Brimstone Hotel, Ast Signs, Lowther Castle, Online Systems and Genesis Homes.

The agency moved to a new, larger office in the centre of Cockermouth in September 2017 and was this year shortlisted for the Best SME category of the 2018 in-Cumbria business awards, with Nici Hewitsonalso a finalist in the 2018 EVA awards, recognising outstanding women in business in northern England.

Nici said: “We’ve grown very naturally, largely through word of mouth and we have a great team in place with expertise in all areas of communications. This is a very exciting time for us as we have some big plans for the next 12 months.”
